How to Illustrate Engineering by Means of Audiovisual Media

This course discussed presentation of research results, scientific content, diploma theses and oneself in a short video, the production of videos, application of basic stylistic devices and utilization of both verbal and non-verbal communication to achieve specific aims. It included the basics of film design (camera angle and range), positioning of characters and objects, effects of lighting and color, spatial representation in the frame, modes of editing, dramaturgy, development of synopsis, treatment and screenplay, production planning and time management, appearance of characters (positioning and viewing direction of presenters and interview partners), value of verbal and non-verbal communication as well as techniques of film analysis.

The final project was to apply all the learnt techniques and skills all in one video.
